Plan to arrive at the campsite around 6:00 on Friday June 24th and enjoy a night of camping with fellow scouts from our pack. This is “car camping” and a very easy campout. Please bring dinner for your family and if you plan to hang around in the morning and fish you might want to pack something for breakfast. The pack will provide everything we need for smores.
You may wish to bring camp chairs, drinks, tent, flash lights, light sleeping bags, sleeping pads, etc. We will play some games, take a night-time hike, sing some songs, have a campfire and cook smores!
RSVP — Please be courteous and RSVP to this event even if you are not planning on attending. It makes it much easier for the organizer to prepare for the event when we know who is and who is not participating.. Thanks you in advance for extending us this courtesy.
Day Camp workshop
This Tuesday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. we will meet in the LVE cafeteria to work on the things we need for Day Camp as well as answer questions and generally make sure we are ready. It is very important that you and your son attend this meeting if you are going to Day Camp!
Webelos Woods 2011
This year our third grade (Bears) and fourth grade (Webelos I) Scouts will have the opportunity to attend Webelos Woods, April 15-16. This is a great camping experience with tons of fun. Troop 85 is sponsoring the event this year and the theme is “Wacky Science”. All activities will count towards Webelos rank advancement (the Bears can put in their Webelos handbook.) Troop 85 always puts on a great program with very good food.
Please attend this event if at all possible. Talk with your Den leaders to get more information and sign-up.

We had a great Cub Family Campout!
We had 48 people come out and camp at the Cub Family Campout this weekend with quite a few more that came out just for the evening. The sponsoring Boy Scout Troops had some great skits and songs and the Webelos Scouts were invited up to help retire American flags. The weather was incredible with a beautiful clear sky for star watching. The kids had a blast Saturday morning starting with fresh pancakes and hot chocolate and moving into stomp rockets, rain gutter regatta races, games and an introduction to GPS based geocaching.
Overall, more than 1,000 people attended the Cub Family Campout.
We have some great images up in the photo gallery.
Webelos Camp was Awesome!
We just got back from Webelos camp up at camp Naish and it couldn’t have been any better. The stormy weather cleared as we headed up to camp and it just kept getting better. We had beautiful days and cool nights for great sleeping. The boys had an incredible time camping, swimming, learning new skills, handling snakes, checking out the baby alligator, bouldering, shooting off model rockets, shooting arrows, earning their whittling chip, and cooking their own dinner in our campfire. In fact, many of the boys said their tinfoil dinner was the “best food ever!”
This year we had a total of 13 Scouts (Webelos I & II) attend and they accomplished many of the Webelos Scout achievements. We will be putting up pictures soon.
Webelos had fun on Den campout
The Webelos had a Den only campout at Shawnee Mission Park recently. We made large torsion type catapults, made small cooking fires, cooked on “hobo” stoves, played games and generally had an incredible time.
