Pinewood Derby (Update)

As a reminder, the 2012 Pinewood Derby is scheduled for this Saturday, January 21st at 4:00pm.

We will be registering cars at LVE this Friday, January 20th from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Please have your cars ready to be teched-in during this time. Your assistance in this will help to ensure we can start the race on time. If you are unable to tech your car on Friday, we will be available Saturday from 2:30 – 3:30pm. The flyer and rules sheet are attached for your reference.

In addition to the race, we will also have dinner available from Celebrity’s Diner. The pack will provide each scout with a meal and everyone else will have the opportunity to purchase food of their choice. Celebrity’s will be providing your choice of the following:

$4.00 – Hotdog, Chips and Drink
$5.00 – Burger, Chips and Drink
$6.00 – Chicken, Chips and Drink

Trophies will be awarded for the following:
1st Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II
2nd Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II
3rd Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II

1st Place – Pack Grand Champion
2nd Place – Pack Grand Champion
3rd Place – Pack Grand Champion

We will also have special appearances from “celebrity” judges to determine the following:

Overall Best in Show – Trophy
Favorite Team Spirit – Certificate
Most Patriotic – Certificate
Most Original – Certificate

All scouts that participate will also receive a special patch.

Community Service Donations

Please bring a new, unwrapped to for “Toys for Tots” and/or a donation for the Salvation Army of Olathe to tonight’s Pack meeting (Tuesday, December 13ht.)  The Salvation Army has asked for the following items: laundry soap, softner, gently used coat/jacket, hats, gloves, and scarves.

Cub Family Campout/Camporee – Final Notes

Meet at Liberty View at 4:30 PM on October 14th with all your camping gear to caravan out to Lake Olathe. The district campout is at Lake Olathe on the old golf course.

Address and Directions – 2300 West Golf Course Road. You can either take 135th (Santa Fe) West past K-7 (Parker) then turn South on Ward Cliff Drive into Lake Olathe. Then follow the signs to the campout. Or you can take 143rd West, under I-35 to third round about, then Dennis past K-7 (Parker) to Ward Cliff Drive and turn North – there is less traffic that way. Both ways Ward Cliff Drive is not well marked, so you might want to print yourself a map off the internet just in case.

Community Service Project

Hello Scout families,

This is a reminder to bring household/hygiene items to next week’s Pack meeting, Oct 11th. We will be collecting items to donate to the Salvation Army’s after-school program that Mrs. Worten (3rd grade LVE teacher)participates in.

Items needed: (travel size are great)
Toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, handsanitizer, TP, papertowels, kleenex, soap, lotion, babywipes, bleach wipes, etc.
