Pinewood Derby (Update)
As a reminder, the 2012 Pinewood Derby is scheduled for this Saturday, January 21st at 4:00pm.
We will be registering cars at LVE this Friday, January 20th from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Please have your cars ready to be teched-in during this time. Your assistance in this will help to ensure we can start the race on time. If you are unable to tech your car on Friday, we will be available Saturday from 2:30 – 3:30pm. The flyer and rules sheet are attached for your reference.
In addition to the race, we will also have dinner available from Celebrity’s Diner. The pack will provide each scout with a meal and everyone else will have the opportunity to purchase food of their choice. Celebrity’s will be providing your choice of the following:
$4.00 – Hotdog, Chips and Drink
$5.00 – Burger, Chips and Drink
$6.00 – Chicken, Chips and Drink
Trophies will be awarded for the following:
1st Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II
2nd Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II
3rd Place – Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos I and Webelos II
1st Place – Pack Grand Champion
2nd Place – Pack Grand Champion
3rd Place – Pack Grand Champion
We will also have special appearances from “celebrity” judges to determine the following:
Overall Best in Show – Trophy
Favorite Team Spirit – Certificate
Most Patriotic – Certificate
Most Original – Certificate
All scouts that participate will also receive a special patch.

Blue and Gold Banquet
February 18th — Blue and Gold Harmony Middle School @ 5:00 p.m.
We will start the program promptly at 5:00 p.m. please come early so you can drop your side dish and get seated.
Please look for an Evite to this great event soon!
The Pack will provide meat, drinks and desert. We ask you to bring a side dish to share
Boys will receive their rank awards and our Webelos II will crossover to their Boy Scout Troops

Pinewood Derby
Our annual Pinewood Derby is coming up on Saturday, January 21st.
We are handing out the car kits at the December Pack meeting. Please see your Den leader if you can’t make it to the December meeting.
There will be a workshop in the LVE cafeteria on Tuesday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m. instead of our regular Pack meeting. This is a great time to get some help, check your cars weight and dimensions and generally make sure you know what you are doing.
We will be starting the Pinewood Derby at 4:00 p.m. and will have a vendor on-site for dinner. The Scouts will get a FREE meal voucher and everyone else should bring cash. We will let you know who the vendor will be as we get closer.
We will have our Friends of Scouting Open Class race again this year. Please have your extra cars, old cars, sibling cars, etc. ready to race. There is an entrance fee depending on your age per car. Please see the attached fliers.
Pack Meeting tonight (12/13)
Tonight we will have a lot going on at our Pack meeting.
- Uniform inspection – please wear your CLASS A uniform including scarf, slider, belt, etc.
- Pinewood Derby driver’s license photos will be taken tonight.
- Pinewood Derby car kits will be handed out tonight.
- Popcorn prizes will be given out tonight.
- Toys for Tots collection.
- Salvation Army of Olathe collection.
We will have our “Open Class” again in our Pinewood Derby and will have car kits available for sale at the meeting for $5.00 each to save you a trip to the Scout store. Please bring a check or exact change.
Community Service Donations
Please bring a new, unwrapped to for “Toys for Tots” and/or a donation for the Salvation Army of Olathe to tonight’s Pack meeting (Tuesday, December 13ht.) The Salvation Army has asked for the following items: laundry soap, softner, gently used coat/jacket, hats, gloves, and scarves.
Great time at Harvesters and a second chance
We had such an awesome turn out and a great time at Harvesters in November. Thank you to everyone that came out and made a difference for our neighbors!
There were so many people that asked if we could do it again this school year that we have scheduled a second visit to Harvesters on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
I hope to see all of you there.
